Types of zinc alloy die casting

Traditional die-casting zinc alloys include No. 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 alloys. At present, No. 3 zinc alloy is widely used. In the 1970s, high aluminum zinc base alloys za-8, ZA-12 and ZA-27 were developed.

It is applied to castings with low mechanical strength requirements, such as toys, lamps, decorations and some electrical parts.

It is applied to mechanical parts with special requirements for mechanical properties, high requirements for hardness, good wear resistance and general requirements for dimensional accuracy.

Correct use and maintenance of die casting die:

1. Try to reduce the rapid cooling and heating of the mold, and try to produce continuously. Under the cold mold state, high-speed injection is strictly prohibited.

In the process of die-casting, the die-casting die has been in the reciprocating fatigue state of heat expansion and cold contraction. The temperature of the die cavity basically changes back and forth from 160 degrees to 350 degrees. The die is rapidly cold and hot, and the continuous heat expansion and cold contraction cause die fatigue damage. When the production starts under the cold die state, the die temperature starts to rise from low temperature, the temperature difference increases, the die expansion and contraction increases, and the die fatigue increases accordingly, which will accelerate the die damage and shorten the die life. Therefore, during die casting production, continuous production should be carried out as far as possible to minimize the rapid cooling and heating of the die, so as to prolong the service life of the die.

In addition, in the cold mold state, the mold does not reach the temperature during normal production, and the gap between each part of the mold is relatively large. In this case, it is strictly prohibited to start high-speed injection and pressurization. Otherwise, the gap parts of the die, including the sliding block, ejector rod hole, etc., are easy to jump into the aluminum skin, so as to damage the die and affect the service life of the die.

2. Try to reduce the injection speed, specific pressure and die impact.

In die casting production, the injection speed not only affects the filling speed and injection inner gate speed, but also increases the impact peak value when the injection speed is high. Therefore, the injection speed is high, the injection inner gate speed is fast, the scouring to the mold will be intensified, the impact peak value will be increased, the impact force borne by the mold will also be increased, and the service life of the mold will be greatly reduced. Therefore, when we adjust the die-casting process and ensure the product quality, it is very important to reduce the injection speed as far as possible to improve the service life of the die and the economic benefits of the die-casting enterprise. At present, the advanced die casting machine is equipped with injection braking device, which is very beneficial to reduce the impact peak, reduce the impact force borne by the die and improve the service life of the die.
